The History of T/T/Nilaveli Kaileshwara College

T/T/Nilaveli Kaileshwara College was started in 1879 as Methodist Mission Tamil Mixed School. It was constructed infront of the Methodist Mission Church. It was constructed with mud and timber and made three feet height of boundary wall. During this period there were fifty students and two teachers in this school.

Due to development of this school, students was increased during the period of 1914 to 1942. The school was upgraded to grade 8. In the year 1944 there were four students passed grade 5 scholarship examination. This is one of the mile stone the school had achieved. In 1960 lack of facilities of the school the committee decided to take government land to build the school permanently. In the year 1967 the school was achieved another goal. So that the name of the school was changed by the ministry of education as T/T/Nilaveli Tamil Maha Vidyalayam. In 1979 G.C.E(A/L) was started. During the year 2000 and 2003 three students were selected for the university this was the another mile stone of our school.

The development of our school was there were many projects were implemented. Specially in 2005 “The Light House” project was implemented to developed English language among students. In the year 2006 multimedia room was opened and students make use of it. Our school was selected for “Child Centred” school.

T/T/Nilaveli Kaileshwara College was selected as one of the thousand school scheme. This school was upgraded to 1C school in 1979. In this period the science laboratory was opened. T/T/Nilaveli Kaileshwara College develop in various field according to this reason in 2013 our school had been changed from Maha Vidyalayam to T/T/Nilaveli Kaileshwara College.
